The global Promat tunnel team presents our latest tunnel projects at WTC2025

The Tunnel de Cointe in Liège is undergoing a significant renovation, marking the second phase of a comprehensive project aimed at enhancing its safety and functionality.

On the 13-15.05.2024 in Bielsko Biała in Poland was the 6th international tunneling forum. The event was dedicated to the various topics relating to tunnel construction, maintenance and future projects.

The Tunnel de Ferney at the Aéroport de Genève underwent beginning 2024 a significant inspection and upgrade to ensure it meets modern fire safety standards.

This ambitious project involves the use of advanced materials and techniques to ensure the tunnels meet modern standards.

From 12-18 May, the Promat Tunnel Team will be present to put passive fire protection on the agenda in various working groups and of course will be available during the expo to help the tunnel community build safe tunnels.

After a delay of almost 2 years, contractor Mourik has started protecting the horizontal steel supports of the entrances to the Benelux tunnel (200,000 cars a day on average).

Since the end of October 2021, we have started deliveries for the Butte Mortemart & Lac Superieur tunnel project (BMLS). These two tunnels are part of the famous Paris Boulevard Périphérique.

On June 30th & July 1st 2022 70 tunnel safety officers and tunnel managers from all over the world attended the 6th bi-annual TSO Forum.

After 2 years of cancellation caused by Covid-19, The Swiss tunnel Congress finally opened the door in Luzern from 1st to 3th of June 2022.

A recent fire in the Moro Tower in Milan has reminded Italian architects and building engineers about the importance of reliable fire protection solutions in high-rise residential or office buildings. Promat sponsored the conference “Fire Safety in Offices and high-rise buildings: the Italian regulations and the WTC 9/11 case” to support the Italian fire expert community.

Comprehensive largescale fire tests were carried out in the abandoned Runehamar road tunnel, in western Norway.

Like previous editions, Promat France is again present as an exhibitor at the AFTES congress in Paris. Besides an academic programme and dozens of site visits (e.g. Lyon-Turin, Grand Paris Express), 150 tunnel-related companies will be present as exhibitors.

Spalling is an umbrella term, covering different damage phenomena that may occur to a concrete structure during fire.

Dongbu is a cut-and-cover tunnel with OHVD (Over Head Ventilation Duct) along the length of the tunnel. Impact on society will be greatly improved thanks to a more efficient traffic flow and transformation from road to a park as you can see in the before and after photos.

The Altstadtring is the innermost ring road of Munich, Bavaria. Renovation of the Altstadtring tunnel has to be implemented as above there is an important historical building - Prinz-Carl-Palais.

The Patomäki tunnel is a 403-meter-long tunnel section in Lahti. The new build tunnel improves the living comfort of the area: less traffic noise, better street connections and more recreational facilities.
