Insulation and fire protection for a secure and sustainable battery market

The stationary battery storage market is booming, according to the BloombergNEF report “Global Energy Storage Outlook”. Between 2021 and 2030, 345 GW/999 GWh of new battery energy storage capacity was added at global level, to achieve a cumulative 358 GW/1,028 GWh. Many utility-scale storage projects currently being constructed are usually installed in containerised units, making it essential that they are equipped with insulation and fire protection systems to guarantee not only the integrity of the storage installation itself, but also their environment. In the case of renewables installations which are frequently found in remote regions, such systems can make all the difference to prevent the spread of fire.
