BNP Paribas Fortis announced in 2012, that it would build a new head office at Warandeberg, in the heart of Brussels. The present building dates from the seventies and no longer meets modern requirements for buildings. BNP Paribas Fortis chose to build its new building on the same site, partly because the place is easily accessible to the employees. The new headquarters of BNP Paribas Fortis will have a capacity of 4,500 workplaces, about 70 percent more than now and will have the same surface area of 95,000m2. This gives the bank the opportunity to effectively group its offices in Brussels. The new building should also achieve the best possible energy performance.
