Promat protects Gibraltar tunnel

After 7 years of hard work, our Promat tunnel business unit has finalised an impressive project to protect a new tunnel in Gibraltar against fire. Almost 15.000 m2 of PROMATECT-H fire protection boards were used as tunnel lining to protect the concrete interior of the tunnel against the risk of any future fire.

The new tunnel will make life easier for thousands of people who cross the border between Gibraltar and Spain every day. Cars and trucks use the main tunnel to drive under the runway of Gibraltar airport to the border. No longer traffic jams at the famous Gibraltar airport. A smaller tunnel can be used by pedestrians and cyclists in all safety.
