Fire Resistant Glass Partitions/Doors

The fire protection demands made of transparent building components are the same as those on space enclosing components generally. They are expected to prevent the passage of smoke and fire from one fire compartment to another. Temperature criteria on the side away from the fire must satisfy code criteria. Fire protection glass types are complex systems. Rigorous fire tests determine their fire protection characteristics. The systems have to be tested as part of their complete fitted building structures, including the frames, fitted doors and retaining, fixing and sealing elements.

Promat®-SYSTEMGLAS and PROMAGLAS® are fire resistant, special combination glazing systems consisting of several layers of material. A fire resistant layer is sandwiched between two outer layers. In the event of fire, the middle and transparent fire resistant layer is activated by heat, creating a highly efficient layer of fire resistant insulation that is virtually impenetrable.

Types and sizes supplied:

  • PROMAGLAS® 15, 30, 60, 90 or 120 - for glazing with fire resistance ranging from 15 to 120 minutes
  • Promat®-SYSTEMGLAS 30, 60, 90 or 120 - for glazing with fire resistance ranging from 30 to 120 minutes

All types of glass are available in various versions - for interior and exterior constructions and systems, for glazing with burglar-proof properties, etc.
