Description
Designed by Bates Smart Architects, built by Multiplex, the Club Stand has been designed to celebrate the rich history and character of Flemington Racecourse. With sweeping 360-degree views of the Mounting Yard, race track, Members Lawn, Parade Ring, Betting Ring and Winning Post. The iconic new five-level Club Stand has set a new benchmark for racecourse facilities and represents the 10th grandstand to be built at Flemington since 1865.”
Fire Rating Solutions were involved and responsible for the install of the Promat passive fire systems to protect structural steel, ducts and service penetrations from fire. Promat Australia products used include CAFCO® 300, PROMASPRAY® P300, and PROMASEAL® Bulkhead Batt, PROMATECT® 250 and PROMATECT® L500.
The build was estimated to cost around $128 million and was able to be completed in time for the 2018 Melbourne Cup Festival.
