Decarbonizing Scope 1 and 2 emissions

Decarbonizing Scope 1 and 2 emissions

Decarbonizing Scope 1 and 2 emissions

Many of our products involve thermal processes, especially our fire protection boards. Decarbonisation is therefore a high priority to achieve our sustainability objectives, reducing Scope 1 & 2 emissions by 35% by 2030. We are investing in technology that requires significantly less energy, partnering with suppliers to bring the latest technology into our production processes.

But decarbonisation is more than energy, it is also the source of energy and the processes at production sites. We are electrifying processes at many sites – including Italy and Denmark – and have a dedicated team of engineers focused on accelerating our decarbonisation efforts.

Reducing the carbon footprint of our plants significantly requires many elements: electrification of processes in our plants, using green energy and innovative technology. Promat plants are taking steps towards more sustainable production processes, cementing our position as a responsible high-temperature insulation leader. We aim to reduce our Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 35% by 2030, and as part of Etex we have signed up to Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), a UN process to further our decarbonisation ambitions.
